Why You Really Should Choose Us

WE ACTUALLY GIVE A SH*T

Just about every business today will tell you that they “care about their clients” and that they “provide superior customer service.” We could tell you the same thing. Would you believe it? Me neither. So, let’s tell you where we’re coming from.

We’ve been writing business plans for over 40 years. We know what we’re doing and we’re darned good at it. We have no interest in writing just another pretty business plan that will sit on a shelf gathering dust. We want our business plan to work. For you. To get you what you want.

Nine times out of 10, you don’t actually WANT a business plan; you want what that plan will get you … money! How many business plans do you think a banker or investor sees every week? Do you think that they are impressed by 50 pages of double-spaced text, glossy pictures and stylish layouts? Or do you think they are interested in the content, the story, the numbers? We spend our time on that content, the real heart of the plan. Why? Because we actually give a sh*t.

So, before we even begin to write a business plan, we ask questions:

How much money do you need and what do you need it for? Those are easy questions, but that’s just the lead-in.

We are trying to find out if you are actually “fundable.” Banks don’t lend to businesses, they lend to people that run businesses.

The first question in a banker’s head is: ‘How do I get paid if this business doesn’t work?’.

So, if you’re writing an app and you need money to pay for software development, what can the banker “take” to get his money back? Unfinished code?

Or it’s a retail store that needs funding. If you can’t sell the inventory, how can the banker expect to do so?

If the business isn’t fundable, are you? Do you have some collateral (like real estate) that you can put up as security?

We ask you those questions, because we don’t want you to spend your money on a business plan that won’t work for you. In fact, we turn down about a third of the people that ask us to write their business plans, because we don’t think that they’ll get the money they need.

We also ask about your business idea, your target market and how you intend to reach them, because we want to find out if the business will actually work. We have well over a hundred years of business experience on our team and we have a good understanding of people and businesses: what they buy, how they buy, and why they buy. We turn down another third of the people who come to us, because we do not believe that their business will work.

So, we turn down two out of three people who come to us? Aren’t we in the business of writing business plans? Yes, we are. However, we are in business to make you money, not take your money. We are people, we have families, we have feelings, we have lives, we are social animals, and we actually give a sh*t about people.
